Emmys 2011, Best Choreography Nominee: Stacey Tookey

This video contains the dances that Stacey Tookey has been nominated for for Best Choreography at the 2011 Emmys.

The dances are shown in the order that I personally like them, from least to most.

Sundrenched World (Contemporary): I never thought I would ever dislike a dance that featured Kent Boyd, but that is unfortunately the case with this routine. I believe there is some good choreography here, but I think this dance still needed a lot of work before it should have hit the stage. I also do think the emotions portrayed by the dancer are believable, and that takes away from the overall quality of the piece.

Heaven is a Place on Earth (Contemporary): I love the story of this piece. It's very moving, and also has a wonderful twist at the end that can be seen as thought-provocking. I do appreciate the choreography that is used, but there are some moments throughout the number that I feel needed to be worked on. Overall this is a solid performance.

Mad World (Contemporary): This is such a great performance from Billy Bell and Ade Obayomi. I love this song, the choreography, the story going on, all of it fits together to create a really wonderful piece of art. I think this is one of, if not the best thing Stacey Tookey has done on So You Think You Can Dance.

Overall: I don't think Stacey's choreography or the overall vibe that her routines give off is enough to place her at the head of the pack. Mad World is fantastic, and has the ability to really stick with people, but her other numbers are so forgettable that she can't contend with some of the other nominees that are presenting three very strong pieces.

Sundrenched world is amazing...how could you possibly hate Kent Body in this dance.

Sometimes dance goes beyond the movement and focuses on the emotion...he got so involved in this piece...incredible. Mind boggling that this is your least favorite dance out of the three.

I have to admit that I love Sundrenched World so much more now than I did when I made this video. It would be a very close second to Mad World now, or might even be my favorite of the three.

Mad World is outstanding. I can't even count how many times I've watched that dance since it first aired. I love all of Stacey's work though.

Mad World is freaking brilliance personified!!!!! I liked the other two but mad world pulled at my heart strings. I was so horrified when billy was eliminated I love that kid, I don't understand how america always voted him into the bottom 3 every week. He is a brilliant dancer.

Overall, I'm not a Billy fan, but it's stunning how he danced with the hat over his eyes like that. I wonder if he had any visibility at all.

MAD WORLD... incredible work of art, so painfully real and wonderfully executed! I have looked and searched for this performance and it is impossible to find in YT! Why? Billy is an awesome performer, cannot understand why he was eliminated... All of the performers are amazing in their own way, excellent and such hard workers. But Billy was incredible!
