Author and Canadian icon Douglas Coupland, talks about his latest book "Generation A", the follow-up work to his ground-breaking novel "Generation X". He also relfects on his life and work.
Too late. The cat's been out of the bag for like 20 years. I've heard the term "Generation X" or simply "Gen X" since at least 1991. It won out over the term "Baby Busters", which we were initially labeled.
You don't hear the word "McJobs" anymore and you rarely hear "McMansions". But "Gen X" is everywhere. And it even spawned "Gen Y" for the Millenials, the generation now in their teens and 20s.
20:00 - Being into different areas definitely definitely makes a person's life richer. Some things come more easily than others, but that's not to say one can't cultivate a taste for one niche or another in different disciplines. Wish I'd learned that earlier, but better late if ever

amazing guy - always so deep in the 'now' that it looks like
he's far ahead of the time. i read all his work i guess and
'generation a' is a truly great one.
he's much more than his interviews or the two words in
vocabulary.
