Me again. Ive decided to sell the 990. Its more of a trade-off really, as I will be getting my Webcor Melody amp rebuilt as part of a trade. I was kind of over my limit anyway, so I had to kind of downsize a bit. But I still have my 52 VM that Ill always keep.

Thanks for the comment Falcon66! You also have some very nice phonos too! These particular VM Triomatic models are very unique, and I have lots of fun playing my
990's Good luck resurecting your latest find!

can you play michael jackson's "off the wall" on that? you should do some record only vids on your players.

I just scored this identical player a couple days ago, but I think the LP side needle is shot...and its not the original cartridge either. Case is in bad shape, but seems like I should be able to get it going without too too much work. Got other projects before it though. Nice vid, thanks!

Just responded to your 990 vid. It sounds pretty good for having a replacement cartridge. Also, not too much hum in the amp. Was your amp re-capped? Usually these particular players hum like a mother and require cap replacement. I rebuilt the amp for my 990 playing above.

Yeah, My first runs with it were on the LP side and it was awful. I took the vid for the next owner, and about craped when I heard how good it sounded on 78! Its possible its been redone, i really dont know. Based on the cabinet condition, I would say not likely. But maybe someone recapped it and put a cartridge in it many years ago when it was in better shape. If this was as clean as my 52, Id keep it. But I see it as a 'project', one I dont need right now (especially since I cant rebuild amps)

Yup, can relate to that. I have too many "projects" and just don't seem to have the time to work on them all ;)
