In this purely fictional story, Paul McCartney (Aidan Quinn) drops by The Dakota to visit John Lennon (Jared Harris) in 1976. Paul is still on top of the music world, reaching #1 with his new band, Wings. John, however, has retired from public life, choosing to raise his son, Sean. Rumors are rampant that The Beatles are going to reunite to play a concert. Paul, the consummate entertainer, is intrigued by the possibilities. But John, still fighting his inner demons, is content keeping Beatlemania a thing of the past. But even though the two men are still at odds over the band, they rediscover that they still have bonds from the past that will never go away.

  • yes thankyou,I kind of like some of the quotes from some famous writers or philosophists and poets-I'm heavy into that stuff, especially the one that Paul said about how a job considered well done is to have done it,i remember studying this stuff in both english, psychology, and humanities class in highschool and always loved some of those philosophies years ago,if you can find anymore let me know, would love to hear more,i like things that make you stop and think.

  • teehee "it's very white."

    lol i love this movie

  • @calster33 I just came across thís story. It's by Buddha. The last sentence says roughly: I only carried the woman across the river and forgot her, you still carry her in your mind.

  • What's that story about monks carrying a woman across the river?I've never heard that story except here on the movie,is that some famous story or something or a poem?would love to look it up someplace and hear the whole story of how it actually goes, the whole story.
