At 1:46 the commentator says that the aircraft doesn't have ailerons; a few seconds later the ailerons are clearly visible! Please correct me if I am wrong.

Ailerons are SECTIONS of wings/elevators that pivot up and down. The FA/18 pivots it's ENTIRE elevators, improving manueverability.
