chau & tam - the proposal

After the "Dam Noi-The Courtship Ceremony", Teo asked me what size ring do I wear and to described what type of setting do I like. I did just that and was anxious because I knew he will buy me a ring soon. I kept asking him to let me see the ring, but he insisted that his dad would not let Teo show me the ring until the "Dam Hoi - The Engagement Ceremony" because of the Vietnamese tradition. I was so convinced that I will not be able to see the ring until the Engagement Ceremony.

During Thanksgiving of 2010, we took the youth group to New Orleans for a Thanksgiving Camp and learned about "Brotherly Love" based on Romans 12:9-13. After we came home from Thanksgiving Camp, Teo asked Be An, my little sister, to prepared a pictures slideshow to show the other youths who did not get to go to Thanksgiving Camp what we did at camp. Since the theme was "Brotherly Love", the slideshow has many bible verses about love and that God is Love. (I John 4:8)

The next slide says "Let me tell you another love story..." and the next thing I see is a picture of Teo with a line below it saying 'There was a little boy" and then my mind went blank until the last slide which says, "Chau Huynh, will you marry me?"

Teo told me to look back and I saw my whole family and his family standing in the back smiling. I look back at Teo and he was on his knees.

Of course I said yes.
