  • I used to admire John SO much. I thought he was the only player to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan at his best, and he did. But after that "thing", I can't look at him the same. Now, I don't know if John was really guilty or not, but it ruins his macthes for me.

You are such an incredible match player. You didn't have to cheat....

Snooker players should earn as much as tennis/golf players. The skill is equal. Maybe this is a reason, I don't know.

  • how is this lucky ?

  • @cpacoustic The Pakistani cricket board didn't agree and nor did a proper court. Same paper, 3 banned and jailed cricketers.

  • @DLPBurke I am clued up. Rupert Murdoch and everything associated with him cannot be trusted. But if you want someone to be angry at feel free=)

  • @cpacoustic LOL no he wouldn't, because there were a few problems. 1. The event was not a world snooker sanctioned event. They could not ban him without fear he could appeal and sue, 2. They could not deal with such a stain on Snooker, it would have been a disaster. They instead decided to DROP CHARGES and ban him for a lesser charge. Had it gone to a proper trial, like the 3 cricketers, he would have been banned for years. The official report makes it CRYSTAL CLEAR.You need to get clued up.

  • @DLPBurke If that were so then he would have been banned for life. Why would they have any desire to protect John Higgins? Until this all came out he wasn't that well known outside of snooker fans to be frank. Plus, it was the News of the World who "caught" him in the act. You're willing to trust them over the WPBSA?

  • @cpacoustic Then your trust is misplaced, because the official report makes it clear that he is guilty.

  • @DLPBurke I trust the judgement of the WPBSA and World Snooker who have in the past banned players for life for match fixing. Wouldn't have mattered if it was Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis or Ronnie O'Sullivan, Had the person in question been guilty they would have been banned for life. I maintain however, that had it been any of the three players I mentioned accused rather than Higgins then we wouldn't be having this debate now. Everyone would have accepted their innocence
