My dad is somehow still magically finding little ways to communicate with us through his Alzheimer's haze. These connections are few and far between, but at this stage of Alzheimer's and dying, every connection is truly an amazing gift to cherish...
I lost my dad on March 10th 2010 and I had some similar things happen, his clarity at times amazed me. On a visit about 3 weeks before he passed he waved me to come close to him, I'm an only child so had been spending most of my time at the hospital. He tried to hug me and whispered " thank you, thank you for being here for me....I know I wasn't always there for you! " my God those words changed my life. He passed after 10 days with no food or water, it still hurts and I miss him he was funny.
