@jhanra21 I agree with julianodangelo and, lets dig a little deeper, destroying the false ego - ego is a greek word that means "I" - is destroying the ego's ignorance, not the yogin : )

Great animation work, but no yogin attitude, not from the old nor from the young man. Disputation, in this case, seems to be an egoic response to an egoic challenge. The true master should be merciful with other's ignorance. This would be a Shiva's true blessing!

Try watching the film again and notice the character's attitudes and states of mind.
"Yogin" is a commentary on how yoga in the West is often mistaken solely for the physical. And the danger of getting ahead of ourselves - thinking that because we have a strong practice or are more spiritually oriented, that it means we are a better person.
...have you never found yourself trying to do a pose better then that perfectly fit body two mats in front of you?

Dear Jhanra21, I understand your point of view, bu I honestly disagree... First because no, I never tried to do a pose better than no one but... Myself. And because watching again, that superior look is there, in the eyes of tht old man. He could answer the chellenge with a smile, with a lightning look. But he looks superior...
But that's ok, each one of us has a diferent look. I don't think mine is the right one ;)

Let's dig a little deeper. Guruji meditates in a shrine to lord Shiva. Shiva is represents the divine in the form of the destroyer/transformer. In his form of Nataraja, he dances on the ego of man. Guruji acts the will of Lord Shiva. He is human in that he does show some emotion, however his duty is to help Shiva burn away the Ego of those who need it. And that is literally what happens. Guruji appears to accept the challenge, but really he is playing his part in the cosmic dance.
