On this same day, July 25, 2008, several groups held a rally in Colorado Springs for recently deported war resister, Robin Long, who was living in Canada for the last 3 years. He has now been incarcerated in the El Paso County jail in Colorado Springs for court martial at Fort Carson.
In attendance were his lawyer, James Branum, the National Coordinator for the War Resisters Support Campaign in Canada, Lee Zaslofsky, chair of the board of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Garett Reppenhagen, and supporters from several local organizations.
