SP 4449 & UP 844 Double Headed

This was taken in Steilacoom, WA. The SP 4449 & UP 844 were all finished with their excursion in the Seattle-Tacoma are and were headed south through Steilacoom, WA on the BNSF mainline. The train was slowly being overtaken by a Amtrak Talgo, and I was afraid I was going to miss the Steam engines, but alas, I lucked out.

Yes, Amtrak was passing them on a seperate Track, sure was close, if I had been at sunnyside, I'd have missed the steamers.

Yeah, that really worried me, I tried to scope out a good spot to film, and I almost missed it. Don't those guys know that we're filming? HA! Anyway, I lucked out and got what I wanted.

When I was a kid and Steam trains passed by the house we called them Black Engines!
