Plear Sach Ko is what this is called in Khmer.

Here is another Classic Cambodian dish that is popular among Cambodian household. Marinated beef is tossed with fresh herbs and different vegetables. Chopped peanuts provide that extra nutty crunchy taste. My addition of jalapeños added a nice kick to every bite. The addition of Pahok juice makes this distinctively Cambodian, but it's optional.

  • it's a different way of making, but i'll say, it doesn't make the house smell as much this way lol

  • @sreyxchan True and also you will get people to try it out and some might not even know that there is Pahok in there.

  • Also, boiling it? It's better if you put the meat in the oven first and cook it slightly and then toss it in the marinade. Boiling will kill a lot of the flavor.

  • @StarvingSound That is right! When I made it I thought I was able to handle the semi-raw beef but I couldn't so that was why I took that extra steps. However, when I made it again I did use the grill method.

  • Jalapenos? Not bird eye chilis? Come on, now.

  • @StarvingSound I would had chosen the black furry spicy chili that Laos people use. But I am not just cooking for myself but also have to take into consideration the viewers therefore I try to use something that is widely available. But ofcourse, when making it you can always add or take according to your taste.
