  • Bill still sounded great. Ironic, of course, that he sings a song that was a Top Ten R&B hit for Jimmy Preston in 1949, and then is called the man who started it all.

  • One of rock and roll's absolute masters, and for my money, this was his masterpiece. God bless him! He is greatly, greatly missed.

    Two years later Bill was gone.

    Just read a book about him by John Swenson from 1982.

    Very exciting.
