@Nonie46 Negative. Castrato is a male voice for soprano, mezzo and contralto female equivalent. My father was an opera conductor, this was explained to me when i was 7.

@ahamayoisac Please note that a castrato sings soprano. Alto is the highest range of a MALE voice.

@Tenorliebe in the 18th century they were castrato voices, not the same as alto.

Slava Kagan-Paley has recorded 15 CD's and now he is working on a new album for Christmas 2010 with Greg Walsh-producer of Pink Floyd and Tina Turner.
