  • "California National" was indeed a production/syndication arm of NBC in the late '50s and early '60s; they intially handled the syndicated repeats of "THE LIFE OR RILEY" (produced by the network) in 1958, and also distributed the TV print of Bob Hope's 1947 feature "My Favorite Brunette". They also controlled "California National Studios", a production facility for most of NBC's "in-house" filmed series. "THE LAWLESS YEARS" (1959), though, was a Jack Chertok project, and he filmed it at MGM.
