  • I like the added feel of the story with the music and effects. My only beef is that in some scenes the music overpowers the dialogue. If you do more of these (and I hope you do), just make sure you up the dialogue track(s) and put the BGM lower. Using a higher bitrate audio helps ad to high/low volume spatialization, for whatever that helps. Anyways, keep up the great work!

  • @danekjovax Thanks for the advice. What kind of sound setup are you using, by the way? I suppose 5.1 headphones aren't the best platform for me to test these on. Anyway, the rest of SMBHAX's episodes are still panels without audio of any sort, so there won't be any voiceover in my versions, just music and SFX.

  • Whee jazzy music! Hah that clunk when the dead guy drifts into the wall made me ;). Sweet shotgun and helmet-hitting-helmet sounds, too.

  • @smbhax Glad you liked it. The shotgun sound is modified from one of the old MXO effects, actually.

  • @starschwar I'm not using anything really fancy; just a 5.1 speaker setup over an antiquated SB-Live SE card. Works well enough, and I do a little editing with Sourceforge's Audacity, which allows channel-specific editing/playback. Tied into that flash video, I'd have to use something like Premiere or the equivalent, but that's not something I've had the time to do, unfortunately.

  • @starschwar I'm using stereo satellite speakers and subwoofer, and I did notice the music drowning out the dialogue in a few spots. But the music was the new part of this verson so I didn't mind. :)

  • @starschwar Hah, sweet. :D
