Dog -A Herstorical Retrospective by Cryon Legweak would be even better. A survey of man's relationship to and understanding of his "best friend" through time and culture. "Dog", mankind's best visible friend instead of God mankind's invisible frenemy.

I think you are guilty of devoting too much time to the historical details of these myths. Spend some of that time trying to advance human knowledge, not endlessly sifting through it’s shit.

@8saturn9 Oh, and to argue your point, I'll add that scholarly discourse, like religious scholarly discourse, may largely be about seeking contextual understanding. Perhaps you completely understand how every human mind works (in which case I'd urge you to get out there and start working on improving the state of our world), but did you ever think that maybe people are just interested and passionate about certain topics, regardless of whatever acceptance or integrity might come of that interest?

I know this was posted a year ago, but by telling someone "If you argue my point, you are validating my point," you basically immediately invalidate any point you could possibly make by clarifying from the outset that you won't accept another argument. It's like saying, "Don't argue with me, I'm close-minded."
