BP Oil Spill & Seafood - Contrary to FDA and EPA reports that Gulf seafood is "all clear" for human consumption, shrimpers bear eyewitness to oil plainly visible on Gulf shores and just below the surface. Cameras reveal oil bubbling up to the water's surface when disturbed by a small outboard motor. Shrimpers observe residue and abnormalities in Gulf shrimp firsthand. While some small-sample independent tests do not yet detect the presence of oil pollution, the work of independent toxicologists demonstrate that the dispersant Corexit - used at unprecedented depts, temperatures and volumes in this Gulf oil disaster - increased the "bioavailability" of the oil's most disconcerting carcinogens, that is, the ease with which these poisons can be absorbed by marine life. Toxic PAHs - or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons - have already been found at the microorganism level, the base of the food chain. According to enviornmental attorney Stuart H. Smith, who has committed tens of thousands of dollars to testing the land, water and air in the affected areas, notes that it is "inevitable" that shellfish and fin fish will absorb these contaminants over their reproductive cycles.
I'm amazed..please keep them coming!

It's not just the gulf states that have toxic fish, b/c of the loop current the contamination will spread throughout the ocean and back again!

How bout a nice shrimp omlet? The corps run the epa, the fda, the mms........
YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A FOOL TO EAT ANY OF THAT STUFF!
I saw a video of little kids swimming and digging on an oil covered beach in Al.
The parents were standing close by.....there was visible oil on the damn sand.
What the hell is wrong with these people????
good work on the video......

People laugh at me when I tell them not to eat the seafood......
Which has nothing to do with how terrible I feel for the people living in the Gulf....

In Canada our fishing laws are so strict that any large presents of petroleum in a body of water and the fishing season is canceled.

@MillyVanillification Agreed. I'm not giving my kids any seafood unless I'm sure it's not from the gulf. I don't want to eat anything swimming in that toxic soup.

75%? Yes, 75% ist still in the gulf. only 10% has been collected by men. It will take a year and all the oil will be distributed throughout the entry sea life food-chain. The people are only looking for their jobs. They are slaves. Thats why they will lie to all customers concerning safety. The best thing to do is simply avoiding sea food from this area.
