  • small suggestion: thoroughly rinse the gravel before you put it in.... it will cloud the water if you don't

  • lol i found that out the hard way :/ i have new rocks now:)

  • If you have a 17 gallon tank(not sure if that is UK or US gallon(2 by 1 by 1 foot tank)) you will need about 10kg worth of gravel(3 or 4 bags 2.5kg each).

That is what I needed for tank.

  • ohh... thanks :)

  • i have that set up

  • hard work man,,,,,,

  • take your top off?

  • where can i get one?

  • Okay, then we are on the same page. Conflict solved. =)

  • @stephster575 not a one gallon. it was my mistake saying that. but a 2-3 is quite good. considering they qualify as an aggresive fish species. but yes if it is densly planted. i didnty mean like tiny cramped spaces, just plenty of spaces to jide.

  • Oh, and I'm not saying that you absolutely need a 29 gallon or something similar, but I'm just saying, bettas don't exactly flourish in a 1 gallon tank. I'd say 3 gallons is the minimum.

  • That is not true, actually. That is a myth that many people have been led to believe. Bettas like big spaces, they just like it densely planted. Where they live is not a small space. It is shallow, but not small. There are also a lot of plants. I keep one of my bettas in a 29 gallon aquarium, and he is absolutely happy, healthy and has been living for a long time already, and still has many years to go.

  • so what type of fish did you put in there?
