where do they buy their costumes? I really like the fringed sleeves and have not seen any costumes similar to this on the web sites that I have looked at.

Nowadays you can't find such fringed sleeves easily. They were in fashion in the 1980's and 1990's, then sleeves and costumes were made more and more without fringes. The fringes dissappeared more and more since 2000. Maybe you can crochet or sew yourself some fringed sleeves or look at flea markets (or garage sales). There are some oriental shops here in Germany that sale fringed sleeves & costumes (and at oriental expositions you can find them sometimes, too.).
