@NYJALB And yes, Ranieri took us to 2nd in his last season - after spending a mountain of cash. Prior to that he finished 6th, 6th and 4th. We finished 6th in 84/85 and 85/86 and 5th in 89/90.

@NYJALB I'm not "arguing" at all. Just pointing out that when Chelsea wore this strip, we weren't shit and it was quite a good team. It all depends what you call shit. I'd say the last time Chelsea were truly shit was 82/83....and that was when we finished in the lowest position in the club's history. Since then, I'd argue Chelsea haven't been 'really' shit. Only one season outside the top flight and bounced straight back as Div 2 champs. I'd agree that Chelsea were shit between 74 and 83.

I think it was more a general comment about the time we were shit (1974 through to about 90 and if you deny that we were shit then, you must be too young to remember) rather than when we wore this shirt specifically. @NYJALB Still not 'shit' though is it? Around 6th is where we used to finish under Ranieri and that was with a much more expensively assembled squad. Neal's team cost hardly anything. That was a good team.
