  • She is not being mean to the calf. She is making sure that the calf gets up and she cleans the calf. If not he would like down and then become sick. She has to make sure the calf is up and about and sturdy, then she will feed it!

  • they don't need human intervention at calving and don't need calving pens... so different from other cattle we've messed about with too much

  • Beautiful video. Thanks for posting. I raise Highland cattle here in the US. Fascinating to see that Highland cattle in the UK bear a much stronger resemblance to their Hamitic ancestors than their cousins in the States, which have rounder heads and straighter horns.
