I'm surprised at how many people don't know the difference between jazz and blues. I've played and listened to both for the last 20 years and people, this is clearly a blues guitar sound, not jazz. It's how he uses his scales, it's his tone, the phrasing, the techniques, it's the style he is playing in: blues.
