@horuscurcino It can't control other MIDI-driven equipment, but you can definitely control DAW, VST and software with the USB MIDI port. It's just like an USB cable but sends MIDI data that the driver in your desktop or notebook considers as genuine MIDI.

@omlette87 You most definitely can and should use it as a MIDI keyboard.
It has a USB port for easy connection to computer, aka USB-MIDI (so you can use it with your favorite software and not need to purchase an adapter). It does not have a MIDI port, but I highly doubt you need one.

@salistorymaker the new S550 you can record to the USB or you can play from it too and it is between $750 to $999 US Dollars online.
