Allowing commercial banks and Investment banks to interact is an abysmal process designed to fail. Commercial banks selling off risky loans as investment vehicles removes any threat of accountability. If the commercial banks were responsible for the ownership of all loans they market they would also do their due diligence in researching viabillty of repayment by the signers of those loans.

Repeal of Glass Steagal Act was repealed in 1999.

George W. Bush was President from 2001 to 2009.

Bush started in 2001 telling Congress that Freddie and Fannie would cause the mess we are in today. Barney Frank, Dodds and other Dems said there was nothing wrong with them as late as 2006

There were crisis with Glass-Steagal act. The problem is that the goverment is giving the banks the monopoly on money. No regulation will be able to control the abuse of tha monopoly. Glass-Steagal act is useless.
