  • Well...this was done 1958 when Buddy already had recorded a lot of songs in his "hicup style". However, Gene was great and I love most of his songs.

  • Capitol records wanted Gene to be the next Elvis. When that didn't work out maybe they wanted him to be the next Buddy.

  • Everybody copied Buddy Holly from day 1. Why do you think Paul McCartney bought the rights to his music??!!

  • Very fast...more than 45 round-ups per minute...I guess (grin)

Such a fantastic song ...i Heard it first in 1982..on some Compilation:

    Gene Vincents Greatest....

  • as far as Buddy's style goes the trouble is that it's not just hicupping but the melody and chords too.

  • I think this song has a much stronger, urgent sexual yearning than anything Buddy Holly did. Gene was laying it on the line. Let's go to the hills where we can swoon, etc. No stars, dreams, this was doing it, 50s style, just like he'd said he'd wanted on 'Woman Love'...

  • No, it's in Gene Vincent style.

  • hé little lover.... do you still think of me... you certainly will remember our song

  • Never heard this one by Gene Vincent. Great stuff this. There's always something about 50's RnR music.

  • Eddie Cochran made the demo and arrangement for this Gene Vincent song and normally he had to make the baking vocal on this song too like on the other side of this record Get it.....this song is more a Eddie Cochran style than a Buddy Holly style I think....but, this is only my opinion...anyway a great song of Gene Vincent

  • @collect45 The hiccup singing was done before Buddy Holly, hell, even Gene's first hit "Be-Bop-a-Lula" has it. However, yes, this is a LOT like Buddy Holly, maybe he was a fan?

  • Buddy Holly is my all-time favorite; so, when I first heard this song I was blown away; then, I didnt hear it again for 20 years; I'm so glad someone posted it here
