@bogfootyt When I read your comment, I searched 'mercury vapor escaping' and found a video entitled "Mercury Vapor Confirmed", where they were using the same phosphoescent screen and using a bottle of mercury with air blowing over the top. The gas escaped and moved in the same way this video shows. If that other video was real mercury, then this video is probably real, too.
Mercury vapor is much heavier than air--it would sink rapidly, not rise. What evidence is there in the video that what you see rising is mercury vapor and not something else? The tooth was dipped in water as the narrator states. Water vapor is lighter than air! This stunt was revealed for what it was years ago, but it is still passed around by fear mongers like it's a new revelation. This doesn't mean that mercury fillings are safe, but don't rely on sham videos to make your conclusion.
for anyone inclined to listen to this "genius" (quedorf) please search for the youtube video entitled "Elemental Mercury Vapor Visualization MBB1961". Any vapor is light enough to be carried upwards in an air current.
mercury vapour is much heavier than air. It WOULD NOT RISE. What they show here is water vapour. From a tooth that was dipped in water. I hope the person making this video knows his chemistry better than he shows here.
This video is only giving you half the story. Its funny how they don't tell you more mercury is consumed when you eat fish than you absorb in a single year from a filling.
This filling has been tampered with after it was pulled out of the mouth. all you need to do is increase the amount of mercury in the filling and it will do this because there is excess mercury that remained in the filling un-reacted.
Newer fillings contain mercury in gamma phase 1 which is safer in your mouth because 95% of the mercury contained in a reacted matrix.

What would be the motivation for spreading false information, if indeed this video were a hoax?
