these type of units had amplifiers that produced 5 to 12 watts per channel RMS with a lot of total harmonic distortion and your praising it?

people, you cannot expect great hi-fi sound from this type of unit. For starters the turntable has a lot of wow, fluttter and rumble. Secondly, this most likely produces low watts RMS per channel that it's built in amplifier wont be able to drive sophisticated loud speakers, thirdly the amplifier has a lot of total harmonic distortion. And dont get me started on the radio and 8 track. Just because its vintage dont mean it's better most units today.

WHOAAA! really, REALLY nice unit. Very bulky looking unit, but it has quality written all over it.
