As for atheist countries, there are none. I know you're going to try and cite the USSR, but that would be fallacious as the Russian Orthodox Church was openly tolerated and personal belief was never fully mandated by the state. Don't try and say china either, because Buddhism is huge there, as is Taoism and Confucianism.

In most western European countries, you will find that the scales are almost evenly balanced btween religious/not.
