Title of Composition: In Autumn, Op. 11 Composer: Edvard Grieg Created in: 1888 Orchestra: Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Neeme Jarvi Recorded in: 1993
The box set also includes Piano Concerto in A minor, Symphonic Dances, Lyric Suite, and the complete version of Peer Gynt (all of which are also composed by Grieg).
The best recording I could find of the orchestral version of "In Autumn" I could find on YouTube. Jarvi is one of the best ever interpreters of Grieg. Still there is a slightly different way of interpreting this which for me is sensational, and I am convinced it's how Grieg meant it. The overture is all about the winds and breezes of autumn. I believe the main melody (a dance tune Grieg called the "haying song") should flow continuously as if wind borne with no abrupt phrase endings.
