  • In a nutshell: it uses the fact that a changing current will cause a changing magnetic field, and vice-verse. It only works with AC. Basically, the transformer can increase the voltage at the expense of the current. You get more voltage but less current, but the same total energy. One day I'll make a video on transformers.

  • best channel on youtube... THANK YOU

  • I agree with @skr786 and @anshiman. Your videos are much appreciated. thanks again!

  • You are awesome, you have helped me so much with all your videos along with Khan academy. Thanks so much for putting your time and effort into free videos like this to help helpless students like us!

  • @CantBeDisplayed On a transformer, there is a primary coil (1st one) and secondary coil (2nd one). They are on opposite sides of a hollow square-like electromagnet. When the current flows in the transformer, the transformer can either increase the current output or decrease current output. The current depends on the number of times the wire coils around the soft iron core (electromagnet(transformer)). The more the turns, the more the current.

  • You are drawing pictures very fast. Your demonstration is very very good.

  • how does the transformer kick up or down the voltage? Does increasing voltage requires energy too?
