Although it is impossible due to the intervention of over 300 years in time, Chiara seems to have studied composition alongside Froberger under the baroque master Girolamo Frescobaldi. Music of the later renaissance and earlier tended to have a rigid tactus until Frescobaldi gave us greater freedom of expression in timing and phrasing. Chiara Massini is the world's best harpsichordist in playing from the heart rather than the metronome.
