I produced this 45 minute film tribute to Merv Conn, who is 'King of the Strolling Accordionists!' This youtube video features the first ten minutes. The full DVD treatment, including nearly two hours of extras, is available at www.filmbaby.com or www.squeezinart.com
Produced and Directed by Jeff Krulik. Associate Producer Mara Cherkasky.
Edited by Marc Masters.
The following links will provide some background on the documentary, as well as our dear Merv, who is still playing and teaching into his late 80s. In fact, I just screened this for his high school reunion the other week, where Merv played the school fight song. "Central will shine tonight, Central will shine..."

Merv passed away on Dec. 20,2011. We will have fond memories of him. He provided all of us with many memorable moments and he will always be remembered for his great wit and his unique style of strolling accordion entertainment. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his daughter, Maria, who was always helpful and taking lots of pictures at AAMS festivals of years past. It is wonderful that this documentary exists. He will always continue to live in our memories..

I grew up in Alexandria in the 60s, but left the area in the early 80s, so I wasn't familiar with Merv Conn until reading his obituary on the Washington Post website today. I found your 45-minute film elsewhere online and it was a delight to learn more about him by watching your wonderful documentary!
