Gordon Ramsay loves sharks, and this passion leads him on his most personal mission yet - to investigate the controversial dish, shark fin soup.

To understand more about the kings of the ocean, Gordon plunges in to swim with the deadly bull shark, in his scariest challenge to date.

It's estimated that each year 100 million sharks are killed worldwide, and Gordon wants to find out if the slaughter is really necessary. Sharks are both terrifying and beautiful, but experts believe overfishing is threatening to drive a third of the world's open ocean shark species to extinction.

Incredibly, some of the most threatened species remain untouched by international fishing regulations. What Gordon discovers on his journey leads him to campaign against the brutal and destructive shark fishing industry.

  • Great to see Gordon getting behind the cause ...

  • I respect sharks too much to see them as food.

  • Thank god for this. Real props to Gordon Ramsay. He is making a visible difference. All I could think of when watching the cutting was "that's like cutting arms and legs off and dropping us on the ground to bleed out"

  • @forevryume ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

    yeh oops thanks for that

    but japanese do that aswell

    Stupid Costa Rican assholes

  • @98johnmactavish stop pointing fingers at people yes its sad and wrong, but if you were actually listening to the video they said one of the shark fishing capitals is Costa Rica, they didn't mention anything about Japan

  • Fucking japeanes assholes why the fuck would you get a beautiful creature FUCKING cut its fins off and then throw it back

Fucking cut them bastard cunts arms and legs off and see how they like it

    STUPID MOTHERFUCKING HEARTLESS CUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ElJefe866 mostly hes an asshole cause it makes good TV

  • I agree shark fin itself taste nothing and it could be replaced in the same dish with "fake shark fin" which is some kind of rice noodle.

  • I tasted the Soup as a kid. I will oppose the making and serving of that soup.

Shark fin soup is a dish in Chinese wedding & formal banquet. It is saturated with flavor of ham, chicken and crab. It is famous for its rich taste. Shark fin tastes like nothing in the soup, and no one suggested the nutritional value of it.

I guess noodle would disintegrate after prolonged period of cooking while shark fin won't. It is simply a "sorbent" to carry the flavor.

Let's stop eating goose liver too!

  • It's crazy how they serve it in restaurants and talk about it with a smile. Then as soon as you mention it in public they get offended. Is it like drugs to them. Legal to sell in the country, but wrong to talk about? I don't get it. Fucking sick!
