LaTavia Speaks Out Destiny's Child

Latavia Roberson formerly of Destiny's Child speaks out, for the first time since she left the group over 10 years ago. She went MIA once she and LeToya split and no one really knew what happened but last night she filled us in during a consultation with Phaedra about getting her career back afloat. She said that she was constantly overlooked and disrespected while in Destiny's Child, adding that someone in the group once told her, "You don't do enough in this group to even have an opinion." Ouch. Once she was out of the group she fell into a depression and started drinking heavily. The drinking led to a DWI and jail time. She didn't mention how much jail time she did but she's out now and as per Phaedra's idea, she's going to do a one-woman show.

Lativia had that star quality, just like Beyonce. She had confidence, I was able to see it when she was in the group and she out shined Beyonce persona. Beyonce dad had a vision for her, so Latavia had to go. Look at the old Videos. Latavia shined. I don't know if she can get that "light" back, she might be broken, Divine intervention has to play a part in her recovery.

@anti00pop I always thought it was sooo unfair how the two Le's (LaTavia & LeToya)were treated. I loved all 4 of them as a whole group. However, honestly I think Kelly's voice was the weakest, but y'all know how politics go. Politics isn't just in "politics", its in just about everything.

@megacosmiclove I remember around the time when D.C. broke up, and all sorts of rumors were flying around as to why they broke up. One in particular always stood out the most to me: LaTavia & LeToya did not have powerful enough voices for the group. When I heard that, my first thought was "That's Bulls@#!" If you listen, I mean really listen to a few songs on their first or second album, when they were singing "Amazing Grace" in acapella, you can clearly hear their beautiful voices.
