Haggling isn't the preserve of foreign fly-infested bazaars. You can get £100s off by haggling at stores including John Lewis, Comet & New Look. Or via call centres for broadband, digital TV, car insurance and more.

  • Imagine someone at the checkout in Sainsburys asking the cashier whether they can do anything about the price.. now that would be funny

  • i tired to haggle at a gamestation video games store once, the manager was a complete tool,i ended up getting it for way cheaper on ebay anyway so its all good.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer how did they even do that? they don't offer student discount...

  • @EagleDestiny i've done it in Asda :D. They gave me a students dicount even though I wasnt actually a student (i was 2 months previously, a mature BSc Biology student but i'd already graduated by this point)...The total cost for myself and my wifes weekly food shop was £230 and they dropped me to £195. money that was better staying in my pocket than theirs :D. I always haggle on anything over the cost of £50. Its second instinct now.

  • @EagleDestiny you can

go to the manager and ask them....... now if you go to china and asia they dooooooooooooooooo hangle eveyerwhere..... its common

  • @EagleDestiny My grandpa tried to haggle at walmart before.... it was embarrasing -__-

  • 32% off market goods isn't that good, as it already has such a high mark-up. You need to show an interest in the product, but make it known you feel put off by the price.

  • Using his tips and get loads and loads of saving. You only need to ask. Well done MSE!!!!

  • I find it stupid that he says "some are already reducing prices" and then points to a sign in a Tk Maxx store.

Come on, at least find an example that fits what you're trying to prove. Tk Maxx are a cut price retailer, their sales are nothing special. Find some proof to back up your claims!
