Hurricane Charley - post storm intercept clips

These are a few selected clips I shot and were left out of the documentary. Many of the clips were from me just letting the camera roll to record audio, so the video is shaky and doesn't point at anything.

A team of chasers including myself intercepted Hurricane Charley on Friday, August 13th, 2004. Jim Edds, Jeff Gammons, Chris Collura, Doug Kiesling, Mark Rackley and myself were the only ones in position and able to get the best hurricane footage of only Cat. 4 hurricane to hit the US this decade or since Hurricane Andrew.

We are all experience Hurricane Chasers...the full documentary will clearly illustrate why you should never attempt to intercept a hurricane the way we do. In fact, we really took huge amounts of risk with this storm that were quite stupid. It was only the highest level of experience and knowledge that got us through this storm. It is also a great example of why if you are in an area expecting a hurricane...EVACUATE! It only takes on small piece of debris to kill you, or one good storm surge to sweep you out to sea. In many ways, this is why we are so giddy in these post storm clips...because we really thought we got in over our heads at the peak of the storm.
