On May 12, Senator Leahy met with President Obama's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, Solicitor General Elena Kagan, in his Washington, D.C. office. After a private meeting, Senator Leahy held a press conference to talk about her nomination. As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Leahy will lead the nomination through the Senate.

  • The Republicans truly are ridiculous. Elena Kagan would HAVE a written record as a federal judge IF THE REPUBLICANS HAD NOT FILIBUSTERED HER CONFIRMATION when she was appointed.

    It's time to start calling House and Senate Republicans what they are. They oppose all functioning of government at any level even when horrifying crises that developed during the Bush administration are posing grave threats to the nation.

    What are Republicans in Washington? They are Anarchists.
