This was a newsclip of the motorcade seen on television on November 22, 1963. The motorcade reel or whatever you call it start at Harwood and Main. It shows the motorcade going down Main st. in Downtown Dallas. Then it shows the front of the Texas School Book Depository with the north pergola in Dealey Plaza being shown. AT one point witnesses to the shooting Bill and Gayle Newman are seen on the grass in Dealey Plaza with their sons. Later the motorcade is shown on Stemmons Freeway passing the Trade Mart (where the President was going to go had he not been shot). Later Parkland Hospital is shown off Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas, Texas. Reporting was Charles Murphy.

  • why was it not shown until 1975?

  • No, only the arrival at Love Field was shown on local TV (WFAA). The rest was on film, and was telecast after the shooting. The Zapruder film was not shown on TV until 1975.

  • I was in first grade in Dallas this day and I remember the tv being on but I wasn't watching it.

The teacher ran into the room and turned off the tv and told us he'd been shot. I can't remember if the motorcade was being shown live on our tv that was on in the room. Does anyone know?
