Here, we have a Norvel .06 with the RJL diesel head sent to me for troubleshooting. Two problems were addressed. One, the contr-piston was flipped over to eliminate the small recess they give you. Two, the cylinder piston fit was pretty much not there. Poor compression seal is a killer for diesels. So I rummaged around in my parts box and found one that was a good fit to the original piston. Didn't even have to take the engine apart.

The result is 16K on an APC 7 X 3 prop. The fuel was 40/40/20 with 2% Amsoil cetane booster. The next video will show idle performance.

  • Sorry, guys, YouTube rarely informs me that I've got a question from anyone.

These engines run on a mix of kerosene, ether, oil and ignition improver. A nitro engine will not run this fuel but needs a new head added which contains an adjustable contr-piston.
