Summer Heights High (Today Tonight)

Nobody would like or be shocked by this show unless you relate to its characters, we all know at least one or more. To say that this show has no relevance to educating young society about the realities of life, to say it promotes homophobia and racism, and then to say it should not be used to educate people about these issues, I think is missing the point of what teachers are trying to achieve by using this show to initiate discussion with teenagers about the difficult real issues they all face.

its not the "racism bullying and foul language" that make it successful, its the fact that chris lilley is such an amazing actor, i mean if it was a real girl playing ja'mie then it wouldnt really be as funny. Thats what i reckon anyways

Presume you find them shocking because of their extreme views. Its not like you aspire to be these people. Jonah is a different type of character in my opinon as he is more of a tragic hero - misguided, misunderstood but basically a good heart. Unlike Mr G and Ja'mie who are just not very nice people.
