Want to avoid paying for ringtones? As long as you own the track (taken off a cd you own or bought from somewhere like amazon.co.uk), this is FREE and LEGAL.

Get the software from www.goldwave.com I'm using a slightly older version - you may want to hunt it out yourself if you'd rather have the same one.

Sorry if parts here are hard to see. I am going to explain as I go along and feel free to message me if you have any questions.

  • I think you should upload this to MrHuwjanus because of the whole AC/DC thing.

  • I considered that, but I'm not using much and in the past they have just offered me an audioswap or delete option.

  • this is how i do it. :D My ringtone is normally 'Breed' by Nirvana or 'Bad Company' by...Bad Company. lol

  • I don't recognise either track (although I do know some Nirvana). Can I ask - did you pay for those tones? If so, how much are they going for over there nowadays?

  • wait a minute...you don't know Bad Company? Its one of my favorite english 80's bands! Im sure you'd remember if you heard them.

  • Not familiar. Will have to refresh my memory...

  • nice one!

now you can take it to the next level, use a vst synth and create some original ringtones!

I know I do and it's lots of fun, check my ORINGZ com website and feel free to download what you like :)

    cheers

  • Thanks for that.

  • I had the cd's to those, but you can normally find a ringtone for 50cent-$1

  • Ah, lucky. They just deleted my channel.

  • Very true! Still extremely useful. I've been using Audacity but I'm gonna start using Goldwave now thought, thanks!

  • Lol. I use windows for some stuff. Thing is, do you think people would care as much if I did it as a linux tutorial?
