British Sterling L34A1 vs H&K Mp5A2 with 9mm Gemtech suppressor. You be the judge and tell me which one is quieter. Remember, the Mp5 replaced the Sterling in military service for the SAS and Special Forces.

  • At first, greetings from your fans from Germany, you are awesome! The German KSK often uses the MP 5 SD,with integrated Silencer. Is there a big difference to the Version with replaceable Silencer used in your vid?

  • @spongi45 Hi and thanks. Yes, any intergral suppressor will have better sound suppression over one that is externally attached. Containment and slow dispersion of hot gases is the key.

  • @c2builder I was just wondering how do you feel about the tv show sons of guns. When I found you on youtube I stopped watching "Sons of guns" You are awesome !!

  • @TheMrBoar Thanks. The NFA community as a whole has a mixed view of the TV show, but I really think it is a negative impact they portray for the Class 2 firearms manufacturer. There is too many problems about the show and the cast to get into here. Lets just say that I and other Class 2's that I know are not impressed.

  • Now this is my kind of video :-D Just wondering, does the L34A1 use a shorter/ported barrel? Also can the suppressor be removed for cleaning etc? would also make a cool video :-j

  • @joehunt1980 Yes it does have a short barrel which is also drilled with holes to distribute the hot gases throughout the suppressor baffles. I may do a detailed vid soon.

  • MP5 with integral is much quieter and smoother. That Sterling had a larger volume silencer and that makes difference.

  • I do love the MP5 and both the Sterling. In Combat the MP5 would probably be better than the sterling but say a stealth mission I might just go sterling...

  • Yes - the Sterling

  • the Sterling for sure

  • I think a MP5SD would have been a better comparison (competition) to the integrally suppressed Sterling. As it stands the Sterling wins.

  • MP5 4ever
