as low as the stock fan is able to go it s not bad but if u are runing it that low it sucks going to cool shit :P

test fan first u mad have blown fan fues on bother board what u do is take the black wire and thats ur - negitive and take the brown and gray thoes are both + positive see if fan spings hold on to it good its going to spin fast like a mofo if its good if it dosent spin u killed the fan if it spins check the fues right under the ps3 fan plug its a tiny black rectangle fues some times gray check if u its good still with a muiltimeater check if its a short

are the fans fucked now if u blew the fan best fix is to take a tiny strand of wire as thick as a hair and join the fues its not a good idea but thoes fueses are a bitch to find lol if all elts fails i can rig u up somthing that runs off the 2 gold prongs to power ur fan but u will have a external fan controller so u can ajust the speed let em know

on one if the leads there is a tiny 0 Ohm junper fuse some times it blows out its not hard to spot its right next to the white fan plug its inline with the black wire or the brown wire cant remember check if thats gone if u got no power at the plug at all u may have messed somthing up heat guning it im working on a controller now that will power off the 12v off the 2 prongs on the power supply if u want i can walk u threw how to hard wire it for now but it will be stupid loud

man i got the ylod and i had to heat up the cpu and the gpu....it worked fine when i turned it on but the stupid fan is not working any ore so my ps3 shuts down after like 10 mins how do i make the fan work? it doesnt even turn on

@fktheworld1 check the litte tiny fuse inline with the black wire on the fan and the brown wire see if there is conection from black to ground on board and check if te fues is blown in power supply

@mariopic how to make the fan controller. Do you have schematic ? My ps3 Launch is YLODing hard out after every re-flow. Works for a 3-4 day period and then OUT. I noticed my fan doesnt even ramp up before i get YLOD and last night i had heating on while playing :P sucker dies again.
