"Kirtan Sohila" Line2Line Captions in Punjabi, Transliteration and English Translation

This is the night time prayer said by all Sikhs before they go to sleep. Three Sikh Gurus-- Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Ram Das Ji and Guru Arjan Dev Ji contributed five Shabads in total to this Bani (Scripture) on the pain of separation and celebrating the bliss of union.
The first three Shabads were uttered by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, fourth by Guru Ram Das Ji and fifth by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. It is the most harmonious Naad ever uttered. It multiplies the aura to the sensitivity of protection and it eliminates any negativity for miles and miles.
When you are endangered by any species of direct or indirect source; when you want to protect yourself with the surrounding of the entire magnetic field of the earth, recite Kirtan Sohila. It is a cure for Insomnia! It is also recited before cremation, following a death. This Bani is inscribed on pages 12 to 13 of Siree Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Sikh Holy Scripture.
Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE recites Kirtan Sohila in her melodious voice. Everyone can join in and read along as this recitation provides subtitles in Punjabi and English both. Bibiji recorded the recitation of this Bani in 1993 for her Talking Book of Three Sikh Prayers, . For her outstanding contributions to religious and cultural literature for children born and bred in the western hemisphere, She has been honoured by many Sikh organisatins including Shromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar and Dehli Gurdwara Parbandhak Committre. She was awarded "Sharomani Bal Sahitkar" award by Punjab Bhasha Vibhag in 1997.
