All righty, this spot, unlike many of the others that will be on here, is actually from the official laserdisc release. But, considering the defunct state of the laserdisc format, plus the fact that the DVD decided to ditch these tv spots... I'd classify them as "rare". But what's most interesting about this spot, is that it's based on the VERY rare theatrical teaser... that I vaguely remember seeing in theaters when I was 9 years old... which played RIGHT before Van Damme's Street Fighter :-b

But anyway, with the minute length of this spot, it's entirely possible this was played during the 1995 super bowl, but it could've just been a "special spot". Either way, ENJOY!

And once again, Don LaFontaine sneaks his voice in at the end of the spot.

  • MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

This is my favorite movie of all-time :), this TV spot kicks ass, it would have been nice if they put it on the DVD.

  • Ahh, I loved this film so much. I hope they make a third one to make up for the travesty that was MK2! That was horribly done! I love the franchise but I will never forgive them for that...

  • @PowerGlove79 sorry, I thought laserdisk means the same thing as dvd.

  • @missourigreen051 no, I said Laserdisc not DVD

  • @PowerGlove79 Your dvd has the commentary? That's kind of impossible because I looked for all versions of the Mortal Kombat dvd on amazon and there was no version that has a commentary.

  • I own this laserdisc lol, I take is as a source of pride in my collection, plus it also has commentary, And I also remember this particular trailer showing before "Street Fighter" when I went to see it for my 15th birthday. The booming THX and Dolby Digital sound really gave the trailer a nice impact.

  • @gokuo64 Why is MK 2 considered so bad. Is it because they had Cage killed, same actress didn't come back to play Sonya Blade?

  • People had to clean brains off the wall after this shit came on the TV!!!

And they got LaFontaine with the narraration at the end!!

  • yeah and warner bros. will be producing this film

  • They're remaking this one with a plot truer to the game's story.
