I like this but I think I have it, there must be a string attached to to the centres of each tray so they are connected, watch it again and bear this in mind, notice how they always keep the 'string' the same length

At 0:31 you can see the magnetic field pushing the box back out. It is evident through the entire thing.

i hate it when i dunno how it works but i wont ask for it :P
the only thing i can see is that u are holding the matchboxes in a weird way ... therefore it has something to do with that obviously... thats as far as i got though XD
