In Lympany's hands, these waltzes become the miniature masterpieces that they really are. Too many pianists treat them as throw away encore pieces. The D flat "Minute" Waltz,for example, is probably one of the most desecrated compositions ever written.
I was fortunate to hear Lympany perform some of these waltzes when I first heard her play during the mid 1980's
