Just have to say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this video! :) I have no idea how many times I've watched it so far, suffice to say that it's many. ;) The song's great too though I'm one of those who don't have to wish they were a lesbian as I am one. Proud of it too. ^_^ Thumbs up for the vid again!

@KatchooFrancine The whole song features a spoken part in the beging that introduces the concept behind the song, the singer is relating a conversation he had with his girlfriend wherein she states "I wish I was a lesbian" and that statement leads to him writing this song.

@KatchooFrancine The singer was noticing his girlfriend was noticing a lot of girls (oh she's so pretty, I love that dress, etc) and he asked if she was a lesbian. She said "I wish I was a lesbian"... and thus the song was born.

In the original, Loudain Wainright III explains that his girlfriend is noticing other women and she says "I wish I was a lesbian" and he points out grammatically she should have said "I wish I WERE a lesbian" and he suspects she is. So he wrote the song from her perspective.
