  • I am not sure about the picture...he dies in 1768...not 1786, so I am pretty sure that guy is not Michel Blavet. And if the picture was around the late 1700's that was not the costume in that period.

About the music...thanks for uploading it. Nice version.

  • Yeah...you and Ron are probably right. Thanks for correcting me!

  • i'm just curious about his picture if indeed it is him. the costume seems to be the fashion of the early 1800s.... :-/

  • Well, I received this picture from a reputable website that specializes in flutes. And, Blavet did live through the late 1700's.

  • Love this piece, I'm playing it at the moment for my grade 8 flute :)

  • @MrOctaw no.... this is a baroque flauto traverso, not a flauto dolce. The very instrument it was written for

  • this is flauto dolce ... don't you have a version with piano and normal flute ?:D

  • Thanx SOO much for putting this on here!! Have to play this for my grade 8 flute! It's great to be able to here it, even if somewhat scarily fast!!! ;)

  • i love him....theres a lot of composers at this time in france but he brought it to perfection.marain marais is also a brilliant one , and of course le grand,couperin....
